Barrel Mane-ia


On Friday, September 18, at 5 pm, Paris ArtWalk begins the evening. Over 30 shops open along Paris Main Street to showcase more than 100 local and regional artists, including the mini-bourbon barrels that will be up for auction later in the night during the Barrel Mane-ia Auction

The Secretariat Festival kicks off, with the mufti-faceted Barrel Mane-ia Party and Bourbon Tasting at Oasis Productions (610 Main Street, Paris).

Bill Nack’s Storytelling Event begins at 6 pm. Join esteemed author and sports journalist Bill Nack for a very special evening as he shares an intimate perspective on the 70’s era Triple Crown, providing his favorite stories and personal recollections.

At 7:00 p.m. live Bluegrass Music will begin playing until the Barrel Mane-ia Auction at 9:00 p.m. when the spirited bidding begins on mini-bourbon barrels that have been hand-painted by local and regional artists to reflect Central Kentucky’s equine culture. Be ready for a chance at some one-of-a-kind artwork AND it’s for a good cause, benefiting equine welfare organizations and local Bourbon County non-profit organizations. Bourbon connoisseurs will want to make a special stop for the Bourbon Tasting that will be featured throughout the evening. Adult beverages will also be available for purchase.

Triple Crown winning jockey Jean Cruget and trainer Billy Turner will be on hand signing Seattle Slew Collectible Decanters.
